Modern Apprenticeships offer those aged over 16 paid employment
combined with the opportunity to train for jobs at craft, technician
and management level. They are an exciting way of gaining skills
and qualifications that will help to start a career without having
to study full-time, and are available now across a wide range of
industries.
Skillseekers is a training programme for young people who want
to develop skills and equip themselves for the world of work. It’s
open to people who have left school and have a job or who are looking
for work. Work placements can be arranged if you don’t have
a job but want to gain the skills required to get one.
Get Ready for Work supports young people to move into a job, further
training or college, by helping them focus on what they want to
do. This initiative helps young people identify their individual
needs and offer training in a number of skills. Get Ready for Work
is open to 16 to 18 year-olds and all trainees are paid a training
allowance.
